안녕하십니까? 2019-2020학년도에도 저희 다솜한국학교에 자녀들을 보내주시고 학교의 발전을 위해서 함께 해주심에 감사합니다. 저희 다솜한국학교는 북가주 지역을 비롯해서 미국 전역에서 한국 역사문화 교육에 앞장서는 학교로 최선을 다하고 있습니다. 우리 학생들이 한국어를 잘 배움과 동시에 자신의 뿌리를 앎으로써 바른 정체성을 가진 재미한인으로 성장해 나가기를 바라고 있습니다. 부모님들께서도 학교와 자녀들이 나아가야 할 길을 함께 모색하고 많이 도와주시기를 부탁드립니다.

다솜 교사들은 교내 교사 집중 연수회와 개별 연수회를 진행하면서 선생님들의 수업 역량 및 자질 향상을 위해 노력하고 있습니다. 앞으로도 저희 다솜한국학교는 미주를 포함하여 전 세계의 2천 여 한국학교의 모범이 되고 동포 학생들의 뿌리 교육에 더욱 매진할 것을 약속드립니다.

학교의 모든 등록은 웹사이트를 통해 진행하고 등록비도 신용카드 결제 방법으로 진행하고 있습니다. 학부모님들께서는 다솜한국학교 웹사이트에 올려진 소식을 뉴스레터로 받으시게 됩니다. 꼭 살펴보시고 학교에서 진행되는 여러 학사 일정에 관심을 가져주시기를 부탁드립니다.

개강식: 2019년 9월 7일 (토) 오전 9시 30분, 산호세한인장로교회 본당 (수업 시간 오전 9:30 - 오후 12:30)
등록: 등록은 마감되었습니다.
반 배정 및 교사 소개: 개강식에서 발표합니다. 학생들의 출발점을 알기 위해서 각 반에서 평가시험을 치를 수 있습니다.
학부모 회의: 개강식 후 약 30분에 걸쳐서 본당에서 있습니다. 각 가정에서 학부모님 중 한 분씩이라도 꼭 참석해 주십시오.
특활: 특활은 10월 말에 시작됩니다. 특활은 올해 개설되는 과목 중에서 각 학생들의 나이에 맞는 활동으로 안내할 예정입니다.
9월 및 10월 행사: 9월 14일 추석 행사, 10월 5일 휴강 (교회 행사로 인해 휴강합니다. 기타 학사 일정은 다솜 웹사이트에 게시된 학사일정을 참조해 주세요.)
기타 사항
- 개강일 준비물: 노트, 필기 도구를 넣은 가방을 준비해 주세요. (교과서는 개강일에 배부합니다)
- 학습에 필요한 것이 아닌 장난감, 전자 게임기 및 남을 해칠 수 있는 위험한 물건은 학교에 가지고 올 수 없습니다. 위험한 물건 소지 학생은 학칙에 의거하여 징계 조치를 받을 수 있습니다.
- 결석, 지각, 조퇴 시에는 담임 선생님께 미리 연락해 주십시오. 조퇴 학생은 부모님과 약속된 시간에 학교 사무실에서 기다리도록 하겠습니다. 연락처는 This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. 혹은 알림장에 적힌 담임교사 이메일을 사용해 주십시오.
- 학교에 연락없이 장기 결석을 하거나 숙제를 계속 제출하지 않는 학생, 그리고 교사의 조언과 학교의 규칙을 따르지 않는 학생은 다음 학기 등록에서 제한을 받을 수 있습니다.
- 학부모 자원봉사 안내: 학교의 행사에 자원해서 도움을 주시기를 부탁드립니다. 학부모 회의에서 일정표를 안내하겠습니다.
- 보조교사 자원봉사 안내: 다솜한국학교 졸업생에게 기회가 우선적으로 주어지고 특기가 있는 학생은 학교의 필요에 따라 선발 가능합니다. 보조교사는 소정의 훈련을 받고 주어진 학교 업무를 성실히 수행한다는 약속을 해야 합니다. 보조교사에게는 기여한 봉사 시간이 주어지고 모든 조건이 맞으면 미국 대통령 봉사상을 수여합니다.

We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your children’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities.

Dasom Teachers strive to improve teachers' teaching capacity and quality by conducting intensive teacher training sessions and individual workshops. Dasom Korean School promises to be a model for more than 2,000 Korean schools around the world and to be focused in teaching and enhancing Korean American identity. Parents can follow newsletters regularly posted on the Dasom Korean School website. We encourage you to take a look and support the various school events.

We will do our best to make our students can enjoy learning in a safe and good environment during the school year. The school calendar will be prepared and posted on the web soon. Opening Ceremony: Sept. 7, 2019 (Sat) 9:30 am, San Jose Korean Presbyterian Church
2019-2020 Registration: Registration is closed.
Class Assignment and Teacher Introduction: Presented at the opening ceremony. The student may take an assessment test on the first day.
Parent Meeting: It will take approximately 30 minutes after the opening ceremony. Please plan for at least one parent from each household to attend.
Extra curriculum: Extra curriculum classes will begin at the end of October. The student can select an extra curriculum class according to their grade level and student preferences.
September & October Events: Chuseok (September 14), No school on October 5 due to SJKPC Church event. Other events will be announced on the school calendar.
Other matters
- The student should bring notebook and writing supplies. Textbooks will be distributed in class at the beginning of the semester.
- The student may not bring toys, electronic game consoles, and dangerous objects that may harm others unless they are necessary for learning. Students with dangerous objects may be subject to disciplinary action in accordance with the school rules.
- Please contact your child's teacher in advance if your child will be absent, late, or leaving school early. If leaving early, your child will be waiting in the school office at the scheduled pick-up time. - Students who are absent from school continuously or regularly fail to submit homework without contacting the school or students who do not follow the school's rules may be denied registration for the following semester.
- Parent Volunteer Information: We are seeking volunteers to help school events and/or prepare lunch for the teacher's meeting once a month. Please refer to the parent’s volunteer schedule.
- Assistant Teacher Volunteer Information: Graduates from Dasom Korean School will be givenpriority and students with special skills may be selected according to the school's needs. The paraprofessional must make sure that he / she is trained and faithfully performs the given school work. Assistant teachers are given service hours for contributing and are awarded the President’s Volunteer Service Award if all conditions are met.
